| As a tanner, you've probably always
been curious about exactly how your skin tans. The process is
really quite simple, and works the same whether you tan indoors
or outdoors. |

| How does "High Pressure" tanning
work? |
Every, living thing sheds (exfoliates) its outer layer, and we
normally exfoliate our outer layer of skin about every 28 days.
Tanning with UVB light accelerates this cycle to somewhere
between 5 and 10 days.
Since UVB light tans only our outer layer of skin which
exfoliates every 5-10 days, we fade if we let more than just a
few days go by between tanning sessions. Also, in response to
UVB, our outer layer of skin thickens as a natural barrier to
further UVB exposure. It is this thickening that contributes to
the appearance of fine-line wrinkles.Because OMEGA
High Pressure beds tan only with UVA light, our body is allowed
to return to its normal 28 day cycle. High pressure tanning also
tans the 2nd and 3rd sub-layers of the epidermis. So even if
your outer layer exfoliates, the layers beneath are still tan.
UVA light does not cause the outer layer of skin to thicken.
One 16 minute treatment is equivalent to 5-6 treatments in a
conventional low pressure bed, or a whole day in the Caribbean
sun (wouldn't that be nice...) A course of 3-4 treatments will
give you a deep, base tan. To maintain this tan, only one
treatment every 1-2 weeks b necessary. With high-pressure
tanning, you get darker, faster...and keep it longer!

What are the advantages of "High Pressure"
tanning? |
|
|
 |
High-Pressure Tanning is the safest way to tan |
 |
 |
|
|
- OMEGA sunbeds have nearly 0% UVB rays. Compare this to 17.5% UVB from the sun and up to 6.5% from conventional low-pressure tanning beds.
- OMEGA high-pressure sunbeds use only UVA light. Since there is virtually no UVB, you cannot burn even if you have never tanned before. In addition, since you only need to tan 2-4 times per month, your overall exposure to UV light is greatly reduced.
- Since UVA does not cause the outer layer of the skin to thicken, high-pressure tanning does not contribute to fine-line wrinkles or premature aging.
- OMEGA equipment is fully FDA compliant.

High-Pressure Tanning saves time and money |
 |
 |
|
|
- Instead of visiting a low-pressure salon 10-15 times a month, you can now tan only 2-4 times a month to maintain a rich, golden tan.
- Must reputable salons with good quality beds charge anywhere from $35-$60 per month.
- The average tanner tans 4-6 months per year, so chances are that you are already spending up to $360 per year in a conventional bed 2-4 times per week, or 8-16 rimes
per month. The same (only safer!) results can be achieved by just 2-4 monthly sessions in an OMEGA sunbed. The average cost of a high-pressure tanning session is approximately $23.00, and
this cost can be greatly reduced through the purchase of larger tanning packages. Although it is more per visit, it is less expensive in the long run. For what you are paying at a
conventional salon for 6 months, you could tan year round on a high-pressure bed.
- Fewer sessions reduces the amount of tanning lotion you use.

- In the OMEGA sunbed, all of the UV light comes from the top of the unit (the wrap around canopy.) You tan for 8 minutes on your back, and then turn over for the remaining 8 minutes. This makes the tanning experience much less like the artificial tanning and much more like sunbathing at the beach.
- When in an OMEGA sunbed, you will be relaxing on a large contoured mattress as opposed to the acrylic surface of a traditional tanning bed.

What to expect... |
|
Everyone's skin tans and reacts to ultraviolet light
differently, in general, most people achieve a base tan in 3
sessions in the OMEGA High Pressure Bed. People who are hard to
tan, or who previously damaged their skin by overexposing it to
the sun may require up to 6 sessions. We recommend that your
visits be scheduled at least 48 hours apart, but no more than
3-4 days apart. To maintain your tan, we recommend 2-4 sessions
per month. You may tan more often if you wish, and it will not
be harmful to your skin. You MAY experience redness or tingling during or after your
session(s), but this is heat retention and is not sunburn. You
WILL NOT bum, peel, blister, etc. You will minimize your chances
of skin irritation if you tan without any chemicals on your
body, and use only products recommended New Life. |
